Vienna’s urban development
VIENNA, From Limes to Today
A presentation of how Vienna has evolved with large models of the city and major events of the various eras (music, art, food, fashion) on video walls and with a wine tasting event featuring Viennese wines. This project proved nancially infeasible.
I am still happy that I broke off the final presentation.
REISS LOS ANGELES
It was to be located in a mini shopping center on Melrose Avenue, the only pedestrian zone in LA. The economic crisis put an end to this project.
ROOF BUILT OVER BERMUDADREIECK
The intent was to transform the Bermudadreieck into a weather-proof special event area. Merchants and restaurant owners were unable to reach consensus on nancing.
The idea was to revitalize the Danube Canal by installing ships on the first district side from Urania to Salztorbrücke to serve as hotels, theaters, exhibition spaces, restaurants and concert venues. The project failed because of technical problems.
BOURBON VERSUS VELTLINER music show Show
The object was to compare the history of American and European music from the end of the 19th century into the 1980s. At the same time, the history of musical instruments would be told along with that of the recording and playback equipment that shaped their development. This project is waiting to be reawakened.
WIENER WEIN ORGIE (Vienna wine orgy)
The Vienna Septemberfest.
Vienna is the capital city with the largest area devoted to wine growing. It is surrounded by other major Austrian wine regions: Wachau, Weinviertel, Thermenregion and Burgenland. Vienna is the wine capital of the world. The idea was to initiate a Vienna wine fest at harvest time before Oktoberfest in Munich. Wine versus beer. This project is just waiting to be carried out.
OPERA SETS ALONG THE DANUBE CANAL
This project was the first attempt in the 1980s to liven up the Danube Canal with unused opera sets stored in the Arsenal. It failed because of issues concerning technical implementation and maintenance.
Was a nice idea.
